Position Summary
TRS is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our Enterprise Application Development team. In this role, you will play a key part in modernizing our public pension administration systems as we transition from legacy IBM midrange technologies to a modern Microsoft-based platform. This transformation leverages the Mendix low-code platform, Sagitec's Neospin framework, .NET, SQL Server, and related technologies to deliver scalable, agile, and efficient enterprise applications.
As the Solution Architect, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to design and implement robust, responsive solutions. Your expertise will be critical in enhancing existing applications and architecting new features to support public pension administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and end-to-end implementation of custom features and enhancements using Mendix, .NET/C#, Sagitec Neospin, MS SQL Server, and integration technologies (SOAP/REST APIs).
- Analyze business needs and create user stories, evaluate options, and recommend scalable, secure, cost-effective solutions aligned with industry best practices and TRS standards.
- Develop and maintain architecture/design guidelines, ensuring built-in agility for rapid adaptation and maintenance.
- Integrate commercial off-the-shelf products with enterprise systems, serve as a technical SME for third-party solutions, and manage documentation, upgrades, and performance optimizations.
- Support ongoing maintenance, enhancements, production issues, and proof-of-concepts for new tools/technologies.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to deliver iterative releases that meet evolving business requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
Preferred Skills
Preferred Skills in Addition to Minimum Qualifications - 10\+ years architecting, designing, and developing large-scale enterprise applications, ideally in the financial/pension domain using structured methodologies. - 5\+ years of hands-on experience with public pension systems as an architect/designer/developer. - 7\+ years with Microsoft .NET ecosystem (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server), web services (SOAP/REST), HTML/XML/JavaScript, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps. - 2\+ years building solutions with Mendix (or comparable low-code platforms). - Proven experience developing automated member correspondence/communications via templates. - Strong background in object-oriented design patterns, UI/UX principles, security, and integration. - Hands-on familiarity with databases like MS SQL Server (experience with IBM DB2/PostgreSQL a plus). - Sagitec Neospin/framework experience, highly desirable. - Experience with rules engines and business process management tools. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Drive for results, professional confidence, interpersonal awareness, and a collaborative mindset.
