Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: US Remote

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst to join our remote team. This role is critical for ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency within our policy administration systems, requiring a deep understanding of insurance data flows and strong analytical problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and resolving complex data issues, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description:

1\. Conduct in-depth analysis of data within Policy Administration Systems to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

2\. Investigate and resolve complex BDX (Bodereaux Reporting) issues with Managing General Agents (MGAs), performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

3\. Communicate effectively with insurance carriers to discuss data discrepancies, validate findings, and facilitate resolution of identified issues.

4\. Define comprehensive data validation rules and translate these into detailed user stories for the engineering team, ensuring robust data quality controls.

5\. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and operations, to support data-driven decision-making and system enhancements.

6\. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators related to data quality and operational efficiency.

7\. Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities to support various analytical and operational needs.

8\. Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance policies and procedures.

9\. Provide expert guidance and mentorship on data analysis best practices to junior team members.

10\. Participate in the testing and validation of new system features and data integrations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, with a focus on insurance or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with Policy Administration Systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve BDX issues with MGAs, including deep diving into data sources for fixes.
• Strong communication skills with a track record of effectively interacting with insurance carriers regarding data issues.
• Expertise in defining data validations and translating business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
