职位概述(Job Summary):

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated

medicinal chemist

to join our Global Drug Discovery \& Development team.

工作职责(Responsibilities):

  1. Participate in due diligence activities with partners to initiate new integrated drug discovery programs. Develop robust project plans and proposals, and collaborate closely with partners to ensure successful implementation.
  2. Provide scientific leadership and expert guidance in medicinal chemistry for small molecule drug discovery projects, including defining program strategy and enabling timely Go/No-Go decision-making.
  3. Design novel chemical entities to support intellectual property generation and patent filings for partners.
  4. Work closely with computational chemists to support virtual screening, structure-based design, and innovative compound design strategies.
  5. Analyze structure–activity relationships (SAR) using data from in vitro biology, ADME, PK, and in vivo efficacy studies to drive programs toward preclinical candidate selection.
  6. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in Pharmaron China, including Laboratory Chemistry, in vitro Biology, ADME, PK, in vivo Pharmacology, and Safety Assessment, to ensure rigorous and timely project progress.
  7. Provide scientific solutions and troubleshooting strategies, and engage proactively with partner organizations to ensure alignment on project goals and scientific approaches.
  8. Present program strategies, progress, and achievements to external partners as well as local and global senior management.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant scientific literature and emerging trends in drug discovery.

任职资格(Qualifications):

  1. Extensive experience leading medicinal chemistry efforts within project teams in a world-class drug discovery organization.
  2. Demonstrated success in advancing small molecule drug discovery programs, including experience as a Medicinal Chemistry Leader or Project Leader for projects that have progressed into full lead optimization and development.
  3. Experience contributing to programs that have advanced compounds from high-throughput screening (HTS) through lead identification, lead optimization, and into clinical development is highly desirable.
  4. Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry principles.
  5. Experience working with diverse chemotypes, including heterocycles, carbohydrates, peptides, nucleosides/nucleotides, and targeted protein degraders.
  6. Familiarity with computational modeling, in vitro biology, DMPK, and in vivo pharmacology is a plus.
  7. A strong record of scientific achievement, including peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and scientific presentations.

Education and Background

  1. Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related discipline, with multiple years of relevant industry experience.
  2. Equivalent experience and demonstrated leadership in drug discovery will also be considered.
