About the Role

PFS TECO, an NFPA Global Solutions company, is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our growing Building Products team. This is a fully remote opportunity for an engineer who enjoys applying technical expertise beyond traditional design work and wants to influence the acceptance of innovative building products throughout North America.

In this role, you will evaluate construction products for compliance with model building codes, develop technical evaluation reports, and serve as a trusted technical resource for manufacturers, building officials, and industry stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate building products, systems, and materials for compliance with applicable building codes and standards
• Review engineering calculations, test reports, drawings, and technical documentation
• Develop and author technical evaluation reports used by manufacturers, designers, code officials, and regulatory agencies
• Provide technical guidance regarding product acceptance and code compliance
• Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and industry stakeholders
• Support growth of the evaluation report program through technical expertise and client engagement
• Represent PFS TECO within industry organizations including ICC, ASTM, ACI, UL, and related standards development groups
• Monitor changes to building codes, standards, and industry practices

Required Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in one or more of the following:
• Structural engineering
• Building product evaluation
• Product testing and certification
• Building code enforcement
• Plan review
• Construction materials evaluation
• Code compliance engineering
• Strong technical writing and analytical skills
• Ability to interpret and apply building codes, standards, and engineering principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ICC-ES Evaluation Reports or similar technical evaluation programs
• Experience with building product testing laboratories or certification agencies
• Participation in ASTM, ACI, ICC, UL, or similar standards organizations
• Knowledge of IBC, IRC, and related model building codes
• Experience working directly with manufacturers, building officials, or regulatory agencies

Compensation \& Benefits

• Salary range: $100,000 - $115,000
