We’re looking for a forward-thinking
Oracle Database Administration Manager
to lead the strategy, reliability, and performance of our enterprise database ecosystem.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of architecture, operations, and people leadership. You’ll guide how we design, scale, and secure mission-critical systems that power everything from ERP to student success platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Own the health, performance, and security of Oracle database environments across production and non-production systems
- Lead the design and evolution of high-availability architectures (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Grid Infrastructure)
- Drive performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization in a Linux-based environment
- Oversee backup, recovery, and disaster readiness using RMAN and related tools
- Set technical direction, standards, and best practices for database operations
- Partner with ERP and application teams to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of database administrators
- Balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving
What You Bring
- Strong expertise in Oracle database technologies (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Grid Infrastructure)
- Experience managing databases in a Linux environment
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, tune, and optimize complex systems
- Leadership experience—whether formal or informal—guiding technical teams
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
- 5\+ years of relevant database administration experience
Preferred
- Degree in Information Technology or related field
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and/or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), or equivalent experience
- 2\+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with SQL Server and/or MySQL

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field and 5 years of Oracle database related experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Oracle Database Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- 2 or more years of IT managerial experience.
- Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and RMAN backup/recovery in a Linux environment. SQL Server and MySQL experience are a plus.
