Multimedia Content Producer

The American Legion is the world’s largest veterans service organization, and our members exhibit continued service to their communities, states and the nation across the country and around the world.

We are seeking visual creators who can help our national media and communications team share the stories of our members and the impact of our organization through the creation of stunning and emotional visual content for publication on our print, digital and social media platforms.

Job Duties

• Create quality multimedia storytelling content using videography and photography to engage, inform, educate and entertain.
• Post-production and editing of submitted content from marketing team, agencies and freelancers
• Timely completion of assignments while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Content fulfillment for print, digital, web and social media platforms.
• Post-production for podcast episodes.
• Maintenance of asset storage platforms, studio, editing, photo and video equipment
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of The American Legion, military service and veterans
• Strong working knowledge of photo and video equipment and contemporary practices
• Mastery of non-linear editing platforms – preferably Adobe products – as well as high-level audio production skills and understanding of digital image archiving systems.
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Self-motivation and initiative skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to provide multifaceted coverage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness and ability to travel for assignments – sometimes for extended periods of time.

Additional preferred skills

• High proficiency with Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras and cinema camera systems – specifically the Sony FX30\.
• Understanding of studio and on-location lighting, both natural and supplemental.
• Understanding of audio capture and editing
• Understanding of live-stream environments, including set-up, operation and tear-down.
• Understanding of podcast post-production.
• Drone pilot experience

Requirements

• Must include a link to an online portfolio that includes both photo and video work samples when applying.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred but not mandatory.
• 2-5 years of professional videography \& photography experience preferred
• Efficient communication with multi-tasking skills
• Must display a genuine interest in The American Legion and veteran’s advocacy.
