National Sales Leader
Class I Medical Device Company
Location: Remote - 80% Travel - USA
We are seeking a National Sales Leader to drive commercial growth, lead a high-performing sales team, and expand market presence for a growing Class I medical device company headquartered in Connecticut. This is a remote leadership role for a commercially sharp, hands-on sales professional with strong experience in medical devices, team development, and national account growth.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with execution. They can build sales plans, coach teams to perform, strengthen distributor and customer relationships, and work cross-functionally to deliver sustained revenue growth in a regulated healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the national sales strategy to achieve revenue, margin, and market share goals.
- Manage, coach, and develop a distributed sales team across multiple territories.
- Build a strong performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and measurable results.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key healthcare channels, accounts, and strategic partners.
- Develop and maintain relationships with major customers, distributors, and channel partners.
- Analyze sales performance, pipeline activity, market trends, and competitive intelligence to guide decision-making.
- Partner closely with marketing, operations, customer service, and executive leadership to align commercial priorities.
- Establish accurate forecasting, territory planning, and sales reporting processes.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of sales team members.
- Ensure all sales activities align with company policy, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field.
- 7\+ years of progressive sales experience in medical devices, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Proven success leading national or multi-region sales teams and delivering consistent revenue growth.
- Experience selling into healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, outpatient centers, or distribution channels.
- Strong understanding of the medical device industry and regulated commercial practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop sales strategy and translate it into clear action plans.
- Strong leadership, coaching, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- High level of business acumen, analytical capability, and forecasting discipline.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for customer meetings, team development, and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Class I medical devices or adjacent healthcare products.
- Experience working with distributors, dealer networks, or channel-based sales models.
- MBA or other advanced business qualification.
- Background in scaling sales organizations within a growing company environment.
