The Role

As a Photo Retoucher at Rhoback, you will play a critical role in bringing our brand to life through high-quality imagery. You’ll partner with the senior retoucher and photographers on the post-production process across product, lifestyle, and campaign photography—ensuring every image meets our visual standards and resonates with our audience. This role blends technical expertise with creative judgment, requiring a sharp eye for detail, strong collaboration with photographers and creative partners, and the ability to manage high-volume workflows in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with the senior retoucher \& senior photographer on the editing and retouching process across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce marketing platforms.
  • Retouch and color-correct a wide range of assets, including e-commerce product imagery, flat lays, editorials, and campaign visuals for both digital and print channels.
  • Ensure consistent execution of brand standards across all images, including color accuracy, exposure, wrinkle removal, and overall aesthetic quality.
  • Apply and uphold established brand guidelines related to naming conventions, masking, skin tones, and garment detailing.
  • Organize and manage digital assets efficiently, maintaining strict timelines and accuracy.
  • Build and maintain streamlined workflows that improve speed and consistency in the photo editing process.
  • Meet creative deadlines and collaborate with cross-functional partners to support business objectives.
  • Assist in managing outsourced retouching when needed, ensuring quality control.
  • Participate in creative reviews and team meetings, offering feedback and ideas on photography projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Assist with photoshoots and production needs, including occasional travel for on-location support.
  • Contribute ideas to continuously improve team processes and output.

What We’re Looking For

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, RGB/CMYK workflows, and color correction techniques.
  • Expertise in clipping paths, masking, camera RAW processing, and advanced retouching methods.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong eye for detail, composition, and visual consistency.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to follow and enforce brand standards while maintaining creative excellence.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems and file standards.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes and enhance output quality.
  • Successfully manages external retouching resources when needed.
  • Contributes to a positive, creative, and collaborative team environment.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Photo Retoucher or in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience working with high-volume e-commerce or apparel imagery preferred.
  • Familiarity with photo and lighting equipment is beneficial.
