The Director of Procurement will lead the procurement team, overseeing purchasing and inventory management across our managed territories.

About the Role

Reporting to the CFO, this role is pivotal in developing and implementing standardized purchasing and inventory management processes that will ensure the timely and accurate purchasing of products and the optimization of inventory levels to support our distribution operations. "This is an in office position at HQ in Nashville. Relocation assistance can be provided for the right candidate".

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate supplier contracts, and manage supplier performance to ensure cost efficiency, service levels, and scalability.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards, cost efficiency and other relevant regulations and standards.
• Develop and manage processes to oversee inventory health (in-transit, consignment, excess, slow-moving stock), optimize stock levels, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations across all company locations.
• Utilize or implement technology for procurement data analytics to assist with inventory forecasts and identify trends to make informed decisions to include process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work with other functional departments, such as Sales and Operations, to ensure solid understanding of needs and ensure overall business success.
• Lead the development, implementation, and documentation of standardized purchasing and inventory management processes and KPI’s across the company.
• Manage and oversee the procurement team to include hiring, development, and performance evaluations.
• Prepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• must have experience purchasing for multiple locations.
• Annual spend budget $150 million plus
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in inventory management, purchasing, supplier relationship management, and cost reduction.
• Experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry is highly desirable, HVAC preferred.
• Familiarity with industry-standard procurement technologies and tools.
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.

Required Skills

• Proven experience with development of effective procurement strategies
• Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include positive negotiation techniques.
• Proficiency with adopting and utilizing technology to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Prior experience with building and maintaining a procurement budget.
• Ability to build and develop effective team knowledge, morale and cross-departmental cohesion.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry is highly desirable, HVAC preferred.
• Familiarity with industry-standard procurement technologies and tools.

Pay range and compensation package

$130K - $175K plus quarterly bonus
