Job Title: Senior Sportswear Designer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Sportswear Designer to lead the design and development of a complete sportswear collection. This individual will bring a distinct point of view, translating brand direction and market insights into a cohesive, commercially relevant assortment across categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the creative vision and design process for the full sportswear collection, from concept through final product.
- Establish a compelling seasonal point of view, including color, print, fabric, silhouette, and styling direction.
- Build cohesive assortments that balance creativity, brand identity, customer needs, and commercial objectives.
- Create seasonal concepts, mood boards, color palettes, sketches, and detailed design specifications.
- Partner closely with Product Development to ensure design intent, quality, cost, and delivery targets are achieved.
- Collaborate with the Swimwear Designer to maintain a consistent brand vision across categories.
- Direct and manage freelance design resources as needed.
- Participate in fittings and oversee design revisions through production approval.
- Research consumer behavior, runway trends, competitive products, materials, and emerging market opportunities.
- Present seasonal concepts and collections clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners.
Qualifications
- 7\+ years of sportswear or apparel design experience, preferably with experience owning multiple categories.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and build a complete, cohesive collection.
- Strong portfolio showing a clear design perspective, elevated taste level, and commercial relevance.
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrics, trims, color, and print.
- Strong sketching, technical design, and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Experience collaborating with Product Development, technical design, merchandising, and production teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and project-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple seasonal priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline preferred.
Salary:
$130,000–$150,000
