Job Description
Summary
It is responsibility of the spot-welding operator to continuously spot weld components in accordance to the work order instructions and customer drawing specifications. Work involves a diversification of production which may involve holding jigs to meet with the required dimensional specifications.
Responsibilities
- Set-up of spot welds to the appropriate heat, tip and AC forge delay.
- Ensure setup is acceptable based on visual and strength test.
- Pick necessary tooling for application.
- Perform spot weld operations as required in accordance to the drawing specifications.
- Changes and dress electrodes.
- Sanding of spot weld.
- Utilizes rigs equipment for positioning work.
- Ensures to build quality product.
- Perform self-inspections during the process.
- Ensure proper handling of parts and materials to avoid personal injury or the damage to products.
- Carry out the maintenance of machines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School or GED diploma.
- 2 years experience setting up and operating resistance welders preferred.
- Ability to read drawings; work to verbal direction, and sketches.
- Proficient to basic shop math.
- Manual dexterity
- Troubleshooting skills

Physical Demands And Work Environment
This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. Position will be primarily working in a standing position for up to 6 plus hours per day. Some duties will require sitting for short periods of time. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs. on an occasional basis.
