Position Summary

Preceptor Security Group is seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer with strong experience in programming and commissioning electronic security systems. This role is responsible for bringing systems from installation to full operation and ensuring a clean, high-quality turnover to the customer.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who takes ownership of system performance and project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and commission access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and intercom systems
• Lead system startup, testing, and troubleshooting
• Work closely with field technicians to ensure proper installation and system functionality
• Troubleshoot issues across hardware, software, and network layers
• Complete project close-out documentation (as-builts, configurations, system details)
• Provide customer training and post-installation support
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers throughout project execution

Required Qualifications

• 5\+ years of experience with electronic security systems / low voltage systems
• Proven experience with system programming and commissioning
• Strong knowledge of:
• Access control systems
• Video surveillance (CCTV)
• Intrusion detection systems
• Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals (IP addressing, switches, basic troubleshooting)
• Ability to work independently and solve complex technical issues

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Lenel (OnGuard)
• Experience with Hanwha Vision (Wisenet)
• Experience in enterprise or integrated security environments
• Industry certifications (NICET, manufacturer certifications) are a plus

Work Environment

• Remote role with approximately 15–20% travel
• Travel primarily for system commissioning, project turnover, and key milestones
