ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Blood Component Processing Support
- Receive blood products collected through manual and automated methods
- Assist in preparing, labeling, and storing blood components under supervision
- Prepare products for distribution in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all blood components
Quality and Compliance Support
- Follow all quality control procedures and documentation requirements
- Identify and report discrepancies or concerns to leadership
- Assist with routine quality control and equipment maintenance activities as directed
Inventory and Supply Support
- Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining supplies and materials
- Monitor inventory levels and report needs to leadership
- Support proper handling and storage of supplies and products
Laboratory Environment and Safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all safety, infection control, and environmental protocols
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Training and Development
- Participate in onboarding, training, and competency development
- Develop proficiency in component manufacturing processes over time
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in meetings and training activities
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational success
Physical Requirements
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 30–60 pounds
- Manual dexterity to handle laboratory equipment and blood products
Environmental Requirements
- Laboratory environment with exposure to blood and potentially infectious materials
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
- Exposure to temperature-controlled environments

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Prior work experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or laboratory environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Basic understanding of laboratory or manufacturing processes preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Ability to perform basic calculations and maintain accurate records
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet established timelines
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and system navigation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
