Core Responsibilities

  • Take on direct responsibility of the Kids \& Ecosystem Technology engineering cluster, encompassing large amount of product teams, people, technology, budgets and output across Denmark and external partners
  • Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams, drive technical excellence, and partner cross-functionally to deliver impactful, scalable and highly engaged digital solutions for millions of children and families worldwide
  • Shape the overall kids’ domain vision and product strategy, and ensure the execution of tech strategy and business requirements (pOKRs) in alignment with the BDLR transformation program
  • Set the technical direction in collaboration with teams and lead engineers within the subdomain and ensure its adoption across all engineering teams and with key partners
  • Be accountable for overall delivery for the kids' domain to meet aligned timelines and engineering quality standards, driving a sense of urgency and efficiency
  • Recruit, optimize and continuously evolve subdomain setup, actively building high-performing engineering clusters with clear career paths and development opportunities
  • Allocate and optimize resources (people and services) from a financial perspective according to strategic priorities, managing organizational efficiency and vendor relationships
  • Proactively introduce and continuously elevate engineering practices towards best in industry, fostering a culture of innovation, quality and efficiency across platform services, cloud architecture and AI adoption

The Kids \& Ecosystem Technology (KET) department delivers a broad set of digital experiences and foundational platform services engaging millions of children and families worldwide. KET provides centralized platforms including behavior tracking, UGC, and content moderation across consumer, retail, and marketing domains, and owns two key engagement channels kids.lego.com and the LEGO Play app.

In this role you will lead and shape the engineering organization that powers the LEGO Group’s digital engagement with children. You will collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers and fellow engineering leaders to drive the BDLR (Build Direct Lasting Relationships) transformation program, delivering member and kids engagement initiatives that support sustainable growth, innovation and operational excellence.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Significant documented experience in digital engineering positions with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • Documented experience leading engineering organizations of significant scale (50\+ people across multiple teams and geographical locations)
  • Proven track record of building and developing high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and demonstrated experience scaling agile practices across large engineering organizations
  • Experience driving cross-team solution architecture from creation to implementation, including platform and multi-tenant services
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Solid partner management competencies with ability to engage at senior director level and above
  • Travel between locations in Denmark is expected

Also nice to have is

  • Experience with child-safe digital products and compliance frameworks (COPPA, GDPR-K, age-gating, content moderation)
  • Knowledge of or hands-on experience with cloud services, cloud native architecture and modern engineering toolchains
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery, DevOps, observability, and domain driven design at enterprise scale
  • Prior experience driving organizational transformation, merging teams, and scaling engineering cultures
  • Experience productionizing AI/ML solutions to improve efficiency and enhance user experience
  • Background in consumer-facing digital products with high engagement metrics and improvements guided by user feedback
