Local SEO Strategist

About This Role

You'll be the brain behind our clients' local SEO strategies. From keyword research to content planning to monthly reporting, you own the roadmap that helps local businesses rank higher and get more calls. You'll work directly with clients, understand their market, and create plans that get real results.

What you will do

• Run full local SEO audits for new clients and create action plans
• Do local keyword research and map keywords to service pages
• Plan and manage on-page SEO improvements for client websites
• Create local landing pages for multi-area businesses
• Monitor keyword rankings and Google Business Profile performance
• Write monthly client reports in plain English that show real progress
• Join strategy calls with clients every 2 weeks to discuss results and next steps
• Work with the outreach team to prioritize backlink targets
• Stay current with Google algorithm changes and local search trends

What we are looking for

• 2\+ years of experience in local SEO or search marketing
• You can explain SEO concepts in simple terms — no jargon dumping
• Hands-on experience with Google Business Profile optimization
• Comfortable using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, BrightLocal, or similar
• You've worked directly with small business owners before
• Strong writing skills — you can write a clear report, email, or strategy doc
• Self-motivated and organized — you manage your own time well

Nice to have

• Experience with local service businesses (plumbers, dentists, lawyers, etc.)
• Knowledge of citation building and local directory management
• Familiarity with call tracking tools like CallRail
• Experience with content strategy for local businesses
