Test Automation Architect
Location - Chicago, IL - Local Preferred
Job Description
- Over 12\+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, and QA transformation, with proven experience leading automation teams and driving enterprise-wide testing strategies.
- Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks using
Java, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, TypeScript, and TestNG
to support web application testing across multiple platforms.
- Architect and maintain robust
CI/CD pipelines
by integrating automated testing into build and deployment processes, enabling continuous testing and faster release cycles.
- Develop reusable automation libraries, Java methods, utilities, and framework components that improve test maintainability, scalability, and execution efficiency.
- Lead automation strategy, framework modernization, tool selection, and adoption of industry best practices to improve software quality and reduce manual testing efforts.
- Create, manage, and analyze automation
test reports and reporting dashboards
, providing actionable quality metrics and release readiness insights to engineering leadership and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to define quality objectives and align automation initiatives with business goals.

and modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate automation development, improve code quality, and enhance engineering productivity while maintaining coding standards.
- Drive Agile/Scrum quality engineering practices, participate in sprint planning, risk assessments, estimation, and release planning, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
- Provide technical leadership in enterprise QA transformation, performance optimization, automation governance, and continuous improvement initiatives while managing stakeholder expectations and leading high-performing teams.
