Director of Organizational Communications

100% Remote / 15% Travel

Salary: $160K - $180K

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a mission-driven Internal Communications Director to help shape and amplify our voice across channels, deepen understanding of our mission, and support the VP of Communications in stewarding our internal communications strategy. This role will help build clarity and understanding of Come Near’s work and ensure our messaging aligns with our mission to invite all people one step closer to the authentic Jesus. This position will focus on executive support and internal systems.

The ideal candidate will be a strong storyteller, an experienced strategist, and a skilled writer who can translate complex ideas into compelling, accessible narratives that inspire action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Communication Systems \& Strategy:

  • Build and manage the "systems" of communication.
  • Lead how we cascade information across the full team to ensure we remain organized and timely as we grow.
  • Ensure communications are reflective of our culture, brand, values organizational voice and team member engagement.
  • Finalize communications for the CSuite as needed.
  • Support executive communications, including drafting talking points, scripts, and developing presentation materials.

Cultural Narrative \& Alignment

  • Lead the development of our internal messaging to ensure our mission and values are deeply integrated into the team member experience and our recruiting efforts.

Internal Change Communications

  • Given the complexities of organizational transitions, you will lead our communication response for major shifts or realignments.
  • Create and distribute new-hire announcements and other celebratory messaging.
  • Cascade information to external partners as needs present themselves.

Function Strategic Support

  • Act as a strategic advisor to our departmental leads.
  • Translate technical milestones into our broader organizational narrative.

Systematized Updates \& Reporting

  • Be the architect of our "central source of truth." This involves establishing unified messaging and data interpretation across all channels, including leading major stakeholder reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (Marketing, Impact, Investor Relations, etc.) to support campaigns and storytelling efforts.

EDUCATION \& EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • 10\+ years of progressive experience in strategic internal corporate communications
  • Proven ability to develop and implement communication strategies that achieve measurable results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write for a variety of audiences and platforms
  • Strong understanding of digital storytelling and faith-based communications
  • A heart for the mission of Come Near and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with engaged faith audiences
