2\. About the Opportunity:

The Vendor Management \& Sourcing Specialist plays a crucial role in the Claims Vendor Management and Procurement function. This senior individual contributor position leads the full sourcing lifecycle and manages vendor relationships to ensure effective procurement and performance management. The role directly supports cost optimization, vendor selection, and contract compliance, contributing to operational efficiency and vendor portfolio oversight with minimal supervision.

3\. Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including needs intake, market research, RFx management, bid evaluation, and vendor selection recommendations
  • Conduct spend analysis and benchmarking to identify cost savings and consolidation opportunities
  • Prepare comparison matrices, commercial term analyses, and recommendation summaries for leadership
  • Support contract negotiations by researching risk areas and historical contract data
  • Review operational expense bills to identify discrepancies and savings opportunities
  • Maintain accurate data in vendor tracking systems, including spend and pipeline information
  • Develop and refine sourcing templates, procedures, and playbooks
  • Manage day-to-day communications and issue triage with active Claims vendors
  • Coordinate quarterly stewardship meetings for high-risk and critical vendors
  • Track vendor performance using scorecards and flag gaps for management action
  • Document and track vendor issues through an escalation log until resolution
  • Oversee vendor onboarding documentation collection and verification
  • Collaborate with Claims leadership and Legal on contract compliance and audit coordination
  • Support defense counsel panel oversight, including spend tracking and meeting coordination

4\. Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, supply chain, or related field
  • 4\+ years of combined experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or related roles
  • Direct experience in workers’ compensation or commercial lines insurance, with understanding of claims lifecycle and vendor ecosystem
  • Proven ability to independently execute sourcing activities including RFx development, spend analysis, bid evaluation, and vendor selection
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, performance tracking, stewardship meetings, and escalation management
  • Familiarity with contract review, commercial term analysis, and negotiation support

5\. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • Base compensation range $100,000—$125,000 USD
