FACILITIES MANAGER

Our client is a well-established manufacturer of engineered electrical equipment and infrastructure solutions serving mission-critical industries throughout North America and internationally. The organization is experiencing significant growth and has recently invested in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Position Overview
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of a large manufacturing facility, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, safety, and performance of all building systems and infrastructure. This individual will oversee facility operations, maintenance programs, vendor management, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting the organization's ongoing growth objectives.
The successful candidate will help ensure facility readiness, business continuity, and operational effectiveness while serving as a key partner to leadership, operations, engineering, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Operations \& Maintenance
- Establish and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility infrastructure and building systems.
- Ensure the reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security, and other critical building systems.
- Implement and manage a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with qualified vendors and service providers to support ongoing facility maintenance and repairs.
Facility Transition \& Capital Projects
- Support facility commissioning activities, equipment installation projects, and operational readiness initiatives.
- Coordinate facility improvements, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to ensure facilities support current and future business needs.
Compliance, Safety \& Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct facility inspections, audits, and corrective action activities.
- Manage emergency preparedness programs and business continuity planning.
- Oversee contractor and vendor compliance with company safety and operational standards.
Financial \& Vendor Management
- Develop and manage facility operating and capital budgets.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and administer vendor contracts and service agreements.
- Monitor facility expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives focused on energy management, sustainability, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Identify opportunities to improve facility performance, reduce downtime, and enhance service delivery.
- Support strategic projects that align with company growth objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
- Seven or more years of progressive facilities management experience within manufacturing, industrial, distribution, logistics, healthcare, military, or large-scale commercial environments.
- Experience managing large facilities and complex building systems.
- Experience supporting facility start-ups, expansions, commissioning activities, relocations, or major capital projects is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS), vendor management, and project management practices.
- Strong understanding of facility operations, maintenance planning, and infrastructure reliability.
