Join Us at Pura—Reimagining Fragrance for the Future
At Pura, we believe life is better when it smells good. Fragrance has the unique power to transform spaces, elevate moods, and create lasting memories. But we know it can do even more. That’s why we’re pioneering the future of fragrance, combining cutting-edge smart home technology with premium, clean scents to create personalized, meaningful experiences in every home.
We’re not just a fragrance company—we’re on a mission to change the way people experience scent. At Pura, we are redefining fragrance as a critical element of design, on par with color, texture, sound, lighting, and furniture.
Why Join Pura?
Our journey began with two innovators, Richie Stapler and Bruno Lima, and their shared vision of revolutionizing how we experience fragrance. Since then, Pura has grown into a company that sells a fragrance every 3\.7 seconds, partnering with iconic brands like Curio, Anthropologie, and Disney. We’ve been recognized as the Fastest Growing Company in Utah, and we are passionate about making scent a core part of life’s most memorable moments.
Your Role at Pura
The Senior Accountant sits at the heart of Pura’s monthly close. You’ll own a meaningful slice of the general ledger—accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, reconciliations, and more—and you’ll partner across AR, AP, payroll, and inventory to keep the trial balance clean and the close on schedule. This is a high-trust generalist seat with exposure to most of the accounting function, real opportunity to influence how Pura’s books scale, and meaningful runway to expand your scope as you grow with the company.
What you’ll own:
- Prepare month-end close deliverables, including accruals, fixed asset additions and depreciation, prepaids, and reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, SVB credit card reconciliations, and bank feed entries in NetSuite
- Manage employee expense reconciliation through the company expense platform
- Record and reconcile wire payments and ensure proper accounting treatment
- Prepare quarterly entries for loyalty points and material rights
- Partner with team members across AR, AP, and payroll on GL coding questions and close-cycle entries
- Support the financial statement audit by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests
- Participate in daily close huddles and contribute to a tight, accurate, on-time close every period
- Identify and execute process improvements that reduce close cycle time and improve data quality
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Hands-on experience owning multiple month-end close deliverables in a corporate accounting environment
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with a mid-market or enterprise ERP
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deliverables on tight close deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment
Preferred
- Active CPA license, or actively pursuing CPA
- Public accounting experience at a Big 4 or top regional firm
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, and a modern expense management platform (Ramp, Divvy, Brex)
- Industry experience in consumer products, e-commerce, or multi-channel retail, including familiarity with inventory accounting and multi-channel revenue
- Experience supporting an external financial statement audit
- Pursuing or interested in pursuing graduate-level accounting or business coursework
