The Middle School School Counselor will provide comprehensive counseling services to students in grade 6-8\. The counselor supports academic achievement, social-emotional development, while collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Support students in goal setting, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
• Assist in the development and implementation of social-emotional learning programs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
• Provide guidance on course selection, academic planning, and career exploration.
• Monitor and intervene in cases of at-risk students.
• Serve as a resource for crisis situations and student well-being.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all ethical and legal standards.

Qualifications

• State certification/licensure as a school counselor.
• Experience working with middle school students is preferred.
• Experience with 504 plans and accommodations strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of counseling theories, strategies, and resources.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
