Product (Industrial) Design Manager

Our client, a global leader in recreation, leisure sporting goods, and camping products, is seeking to a hire a Product/Industrial Design Manager to join their team!

Lead the New Product Development (NPD) design team, which consists of Industrial Designers and Product Designers (graphics) to ensure design quality, continuity, project efficiency, and production cost, while maintaining deadlines reporting to the VP of Product Development.

Salary:

$110,000 - $125,000/year

Location:

Chandler AZ (Hybrid - Monday \& Wednesday)

Travel:

Some International Travel Required (primarily to China)

Day to day:

• Collaborate with the VP Product Development to develop, refine, and implement processes that coordinate NPD projects across worldwide design resources
• Develop and maintain a creative environment focused on collaboration and best design thinking practices and processes
• Encourage further collaboration with engineering, marketing, and sales teams for a more holistic product development approach
• Enhance the design review process, including education on production cost, manufacturing limitations, and final sample outcome

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the consumer products industry (experience within the toy or recreational industry a big plus!)
• 5\+ years of experience leading direct reports
• Proficiency within CAD \& other various rendering software technologies, a drive to educate/train/and stay on top of industry relevant trends associated with industry applicable software
