Fractional CFO / Cash Flow Advisor

Role Overview

FAST is a growing ABA therapy provider seeking a Fractional CFO or Cash Flow Advisor to oversee financial stability and cash flow planning. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the company maintains sustainable operations while navigating insurance reimbursement cycles and rapid client growth.

This position focuses on cash flow forecasting, payroll sustainability, and financial planning, working alongside our CPA and billing team.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Flow Management

  • Build and maintain a 12-week rolling cash flow forecast
  • Monitor upcoming payroll obligations and ensure adequate liquidity
  • Identify potential cash gaps before they occur

Financial Oversight

  • Analyze revenue vs payroll sustainability
  • Evaluate staffing levels relative to billable hours
  • Monitor financial health of the organization

Insurance Revenue Analysis

  • Work with the billing team to track:

  • expected reimbursements
  • payment timelines

  • Forecast incoming insurance payments

Financial Planning

  • Develop a monthly financial model for the company
  • Advise on safe hiring and staffing expansion
  • Recommend strategies for building operating reserves

Strategic Advisory

  • Provide leadership with guidance on:

  • operational sustainability
  • growth planning

Collaboration

The Fractional CFO will work directly with:

  • Founder / CEO
  • CPA (tax and accounting)
  • ABA billing team

The role is focused on coordinating financial information and providing strategic oversight, not performing bookkeeping or tax preparation.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience as a CFO, Controller, or financial advisor
  • Experience working with healthcare, therapy clinics, or behavioral health companies
  • Strong experience with cash flow forecasting and financial modeling
  • Familiarity with insurance reimbursement cycles is strongly preferred

Engagement Structure

  • Contract / Fractional position
  • Estimated 5–15 hours per month
  • Flexible schedule
  • Remote work acceptable

Primary Goal

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that FAST maintains financial stability while scaling operations, particularly by managing cash flow during periods of rapid client growth.
