Job Description
About the role
We are hiring a Salesforce DevOps Engineer to own how Salesforce changes move from development to production. You will build and run CI/CD pipelines, manage source control and sandbox strategy, and make releases fast, repeatable and low-risk. You will work closely with Salesforce developers, admins, QA and project managers at our Trichy office.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce using tools such as Copado, Gearset, Flosum, AutoRABIT or Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps with Salesforce CLI.
- Manage Git-based source control: branching strategy, pull requests, merge conflict resolution and code reviews.
- Plan and run release management across sandboxes (Dev, QA, UAT, Staging) and Production, including deployment calendars and go-live checklists.
- Handle metadata and data deployments using Salesforce CLI (sf/sfdx), Metadata API, change sets and unlocked/2GP packages.
- Manage sandbox strategy: refreshes, seeding test data, and keeping environments in sync.
- Automate Apex test runs, static code analysis (PMD, SonarQube, Salesforce Code Analyzer) and code-coverage quality gates.
- Troubleshoot failed deployments and resolve dependency and metadata issues quickly.
- Set up rollback and backup procedures for releases and org data.
- Enforce security, access and compliance standards in the release process.
- Document pipelines and release processes, and coach developers and admins on DevOps best practices.
Required skills and qualifications
- 3–5 years of total IT experience, with at least 3 years in Salesforce DevOps or release management.
- Hands-on experience with at least one Salesforce DevOps tool: Copado, Gearset, Flosum, AutoRABIT or Salesforce DevOps Center.
- Strong Git skills (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure Repos) and branching strategies such as GitFlow.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce CLI (sf/sfdx), Metadata API, package.xml and scratch orgs.
- Experience building pipelines in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
- Good understanding of the Salesforce platform: Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, profiles and permission sets, and their deployment dependencies.
- Basic scripting in Shell, Bash, PowerShell or Python.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery and tools such as Jira or Azure Boards.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or equivalent (B.E./B.Tech/MCA/B.Sc).
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
Good to have
- Salesforce certifications: Platform Developer I, Administrator, or Copado Fundamentals / Copado Developer.
- Experience with unlocked packages or second-generation managed packages (2GP).
- Exposure to automated testing tools such as Provar, Selenium or Copado Robotic Testing.
- Knowledge of backup tools such as OwnBackup or Gearset Backup.
- Experience with Docker or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Eligibility
- Trichy-based candidates only.
Applicants must currently live in Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) or nearby and be able to work from our Trichy office. Applications from other locations will not be considered for this opening.
