Job Description

At Dalkia, we’re driven by a shared purpose: tackling climate change and building a better, more sustainable future. We bring together talented people who share knowledge, challenge each other and grow together.

Energy Engineer – Deliver Real Impact in Decarbonisation

If you’re looking for a role where your work directly contributes to cutting carbon, reducing energy costs, and shaping sustainable infrastructure across the UK, this is it.

We’re looking for an Energy Engineer to support the full lifecycle of our projects from early-stage design through to construction verification and post-completion performance. You’ll play a key role in turning ideas into buildable, high-impact solutions that deliver measurable energy and carbon savings.

This is a hands-on, varied role where no two projects are the same. You’ll collaborate with internal specialists, external design teams, clients, and contractors to ensure solutions are practical, efficient, and delivered on time.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be at the heart of project delivery, contributing to both technical analysis and real-world implementation:

  • Delivering Investment Grade Audits (IGA) and Proposals (IGP)
  • Supporting funding applications, including Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) submissions
  • Conducting energy modelling and feasibility studies
  • Carrying out site audits to identify opportunities across lighting, HVAC, fabric, metering, plant, and renewables
  • Analysing data to produce insights such as benchmarking, load profiles, and regression analysis
  • Calculating energy and carbon savings, costs, and payback periods
  • Producing detailed technical reports, including pricing inputs, specifications, and economic analysis
  • Working closely with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Staying up to date with evolving regulations and industry guidance
  • Travelling to client sites across the UK

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring a mix of technical expertise, curiosity, and a practical mindset:

  • A degree in Engineering (Energy Engineering preferred)
  • Experience in energy performance contracting, consultancy, or similar environments
  • A strong background in energy audits, reporting, and developing investment-grade outputs
  • Understanding of energy conservation measures and how to turn them into deliverable projects
  • Experience in areas such as design, construction, systems operation, energy modelling, and solution development
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills
  • Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Membership of the Energy Institute (or similar) is a plus

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a team delivering meaningful change—helping organisations transition to lower-carbon operations while building your expertise across a wide range of technologies and sectors.

If you’re motivated by solving real-world challenges and want to see the tangible results of your work, we’d like to hear from you.

Equity, Diversity \& Inclusion

We’re committed to an inclusive and fair recruitment process. If you need any adjustments, please let us know, in confidence, our team is here to support you.
