About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented

Legal Administrative Assistant

to join our team in Melville, NY. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting attorneys in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level administrative support to attorneys, exercising independent judgment in a high-pressure environment
  • Prepare, proofread, and format a wide range of legal documents including pleadings, briefs, discovery materials, responses, and correspondence
  • Draft and edit presentations, speech outlines, and legal agreements
  • Utilize tools such as

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Westlaw

  • Perform limited transcription of recorded dictation
  • Conduct legal research and retrieve cases, statutes, and regulations via Westlaw
  • Manage electronic court filings and assist with discovery processes
  • Organize and maintain legal files; handle scanning, logging, and distribution of incoming communications
  • Communicate professionally with clients, arbitrators, mediators, and opposing counsel via phone and email
  • Maintain attorney calendars and dockets, ensuring deadlines are tracked and met
  • Coordinate conference registrations, travel, and professional membership renewals

Qualifications

  • Strong multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and editing proficiency
  • Proficiency in legal document preparation and administrative processes
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Prior experience in

labor and employment law

is preferred
