We are looking for a

Senior Observability / DevOps Engineer

to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is seeking a Senior Observability / DevOps Engineer to enhance monitoring, automation, and reliability across a modern, distributed environment. This hybrid role in Columbus, OH offers the opportunity to build observability frameworks, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and improve systems performance for mission‑critical applications. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise across observability tooling and cloud-native DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build, enhance, and maintain observability capabilities using tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, or comparable platforms.
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, telemetry, and performance insights to improve visibility across applications and infrastructure.
  • Design, support, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Implement automation for deployment, monitoring, and reliability tasks.
  • Ensure systems are instrumented for metrics, logs, tracing, uptime, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with application teams, Site Reliability Engineering, and architecture to drive operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot production issues using observability data and recommend long‑term improvements.
  • Contribute to cloud, container, and infrastructure automation initiatives (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.).
  • Write technical documentation and promote best practices across teams.

Qualifications

  • 5\+ years of engineering experience in DevOps, Observability, SRE, or related technical fields.
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or Datadog (any mix is acceptable).
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and application telemetry (metrics, logs, traces).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a hybrid environment with engineering and operations teams.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Greencard holder
