Fitness Manager / Head Trainer

Anytime Fitness of the Midwest is the #1 Anytime Fitness franchise group in the region, operating 12 locations with aggressive growth plans. We are seeking a highly motivated Fitness Sales Manager / Head Trainer who is passionate about health, inspires others, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.

This role is perfect for a leader who loves coaching, sales, operations, and building a world-class training culture. You will take ownership of overall club performance—including training revenue, member engagement, staff development, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):Leadership \& Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the fitness department, ensuring the club delivers an exceptional member experience.
  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop the training team; conduct orientations, ongoing development, and performance evaluations.
  • Support cleanliness, equipment organization, safety standards, and overall club upkeep.
  • Work cross-functionally across multiple locations to support training, sales, and operational success.

Availability:

  • Must have flexible hour availability during the week \& weekends
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • This is not a seasonal or temporary position

COMPENSATION DETAILS:

  • Hours rate \+ session pay
  • Monthly bonus eligibility

Training \& Coaching Excellence

  • Maintain high training standards and ensure AF Training methods are consistently delivered.
  • Coach members of all fitness levels while demonstrating progressions, regressions, and safe form.
  • Build strong relationships with members to improve retention and deliver meaningful results.

Sales \& Business Growth

  • Drive training and membership revenue through empathy-based sales conversations.
  • Sell memberships, personal training, and additional services at point of sale.
  • Implement creative and strategic marketing initiatives to attract new clients and retain current members.
  • Partner closely with the Personal Training Team to support revenue goals and club profitability.
  • Contribute entrepreneurial ideas that elevate the club, service offerings, and member experience.

Safety \& Compliance

  • Maintain current CPR/AED, First Aid, and accredited personal training certifications.
  • Uphold all safety, operational, and brand standards.

What You Bring (Key Requirements):

  • Nationally accredited Personal Training Certification (ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA)
  • Current CPR/AED \& First Aid Certification
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to connect, empathize, and motivate members
  • Proven leadership ability with experience coaching or managing teams
  • High energy, outgoing personality, and genuine passion for helping others
  • Excellent public speaking, communication, and coaching skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and hit performance targets
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, and reliability
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to grow a fitness business across multiple locations
  • Ability to train all fitness levels (beginner to advanced)

  • Fitness industry experience
  • Previous sales or membership experience

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate \+ revenue bonus \+ sales commission
