Role Summary:
As a key member of the Finance team, the Group Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction business.
Based in Singapore, our Headquarters, this role will play a critical part in strengthening the Group’s financial foundation, enhancing governance standards, and ensuring the finance function is scalable and audit-ready as the business continues to grow.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical accounting background, hands-on experience in group consolidation, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.
What Would Be Your Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting \& Consolidation
- Oversee the Group’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple entities
- Lead group consolidation and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting
- Prepare management reports and statutory financial statements across jurisdictions
Accounting Operations \& Close Excellence
- Standardise accounting policies and close processes across regions
- Drive improvements to shorten and stabilise the month-end close cycle
- Ensure consistent application of accounting treatments across all entities
- Finance Controls \& Governance
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance internal control frameworks
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
- Strengthen governance standards to support increased operational scale and external stakeholder expectations
Audit Management \& Compliance
- Lead external audits across multiple jurisdictions and act as the primary liaison with auditors
- Ensure audit readiness and minimise audit adjustments
- Support ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
Technical Accounting
- Provide guidance on complex accounting areas (e.g. revenue recognition, consolidation, financial instruments)
- Ensure consistent and appropriate accounting treatment across entities
- Operating Efficiency \& Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve finance operations through automation and standardisation
- Drive enhancements to accounting workflows and reporting processes
- Support the implementation and optimisation of financial systems
Accounting Systems \& Data Integrity
- Oversee the integrity and effectiveness of financial systems (e.g. general ledger and related tools)
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial data
- Support system improvements to enhance reporting quality and efficiency
- Regional Finance Coordination
- Work closely with finance teams across multiple jurisdictions to ensure alignment and consistency
- Manage cross-border reporting requirements and varying regulatory environments
- Support finance-related matters involving China and other regional markets
Team Management
- Manage and develop finance team members across key areas of accounting and reporting
- Ensure consistent standards, accountability, and performance across the team
- Build a scalable and high-quality finance function
What We Require from You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience, ideally with a Big 4 background at Manager / Senior Manager level
- Proven experience in Group consolidation and operating in multi-entity, multi-country environments
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and financial reporting frameworks
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key issues
- High attention to detail with a structured and disciplined approach to work
- Hands-on and adaptable, with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally
- Strong sense of ownership with a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across regions and functions
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and external auditors
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin is highly preferred, as the role involves regular coordination with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders across the region
