Senior Contracts Manager - Defence

Intract Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager – Defence to join our Building \& Construction team.

This role is suited to a commercially strong construction professional who enjoys working closely with project teams, clients and subcontractors to deliver fair, compliant and successful outcomes.

You will lead commercial strategy, procurement, contract administration, cost control and financial reporting across Defence projects from tender through to delivery and final account.

What You’ll Do

• Lead commercial strategy across Defence construction projects
• Manage head contract and subcontract administration
• Oversee procurement, cost control, forecasting and reporting
• Support tendering, pricing strategy and commercial reviews
• Manage commercial risk, claims, variations and contract notices
• Build strong relationships with Defence stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers
• Mentor and support commercial team members

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar
• 10\+ years’ experience in commercial management, contract administration or cost management
• Experience on Defence, government or major building projects
• Strong knowledge of procurement, contracts and financial forecasting
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance
