Job Description
Join Us at Centricity Research!
Centricity Research is one of North America’s fastest-growing clinical research networks, conducting Phase I–IV trials across 20\+ sites and 100\+ health indications. We’re PE-backed and scaling deliberately — which means the financial leadership opportunity here is real, complex, and consequential.
- Build, don’t maintain: You’re joining at an inflection point. The finance function is being built for scale — you’ll design the systems and operating infrastructure that will define how Centricity manages its next phase of growth.
- Visibility that matters: You’ll work directly with the Executive Team, Board, and PE sponsor on the decisions that shape Centricity’s future.
- Complexity worth solving: Managing the financial performance of a multi-site, contract-driven clinical research network — where study mix, enrollment timelines, site capacity, and revenue recognition all interact — is a genuinely interesting and high-stakes challenge.
- Mission with momentum: Clinical trials exist to get better treatments to patients faster. The work you do here directly enables that mission at scale.
- Remote-first flexibility: Work from anywhere while contributing to an organization with real operational presence across North America.
- Competitive rewards: Compensation, benefits, and equity participation structured for a high-impact CFO role in a growth-stage, PE-backed company.
About the role
As a key partner to the executive team, the CFO will ensure the right people, processes, and systems are in place to support accurate reporting, treasury management, and the financial infrastructure required to scale a growing, PE-backed clinical research network across North America. Centricity is backed by Trinity Hunt Partners, a Dallas-based middle-market private equity firm focused on building growth-oriented businesses into market leaders.
The CFO will have day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing all finance-related activities — including financial operations, accounting, FP\&A, debt and equity management, compliance, acquisition analysis and integration, and lender relations. This individual will play a pivotal role in translating clinical and operational performance into financial outcomes, and in equipping Centricity's leadership with the insight needed to drive growth and value creation.
The CFO will inherit a lean but functional finance team, including a Director of FP\&A and an Accounting Manager, supported by an offshore accounting partner (MCA) that handles the majority of day-to-day back-office accounting operations. This structure presents a compelling opportunity for a hands-on leader to build upon an existing foundation, optimize the offshore model, and scale the team in a deliberate, capital-efficient way as the business grows.
What you'll do
- Work closely with the Executive Team and Board to develop and execute the strategic vision and long-term plan for Centricity Research, including identifying the financial drivers of site-level performance, building KPIs across a multi-site network, and evaluating return on capital for potential investments
- Build and lead an accounting and FP\&A team capable of delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis, including site-level P\&Ls, revenue cycle visibility, and forward-looking forecasts, that enable actionable business decisions
- Support and provide senior oversight of the end-to-end revenue forecasting process, from pipeline and bookings through study activity, enrollment, revenue recognition, and collections, working in close partnership with the Director of FP\&A and the commercial organization to ensure forecast integrity, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modeling across enrollment volumes and contract structures
- Drive the Annual Operating Plan, rolling reforecasts, and long-range planning processes, ensuring alignment between financial plans and the operational realities of enrollment, study mix, staffing, and site capacity
- Lead the development of board and lender materials, including financial performance reporting, reforecasts, and analysis of key risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives, with a target of a \<15-day monthly close and reporting timeline
- Assist in M\&A diligence and integration, evaluating opportunities and competitive positioning while protecting Centricity’s financial condition and ensuring repeatable integration processes across the site network
- Drive cash flow optimization, ensure appropriate working capital management, and oversee treasury, debt compliance, and lender relationships
- Identify and implement financial systems and technology tools, including BI / data visualization tools and AI-enabled automation, to improve reporting speed, forecast accuracy, and analytical depth
- Manage external audit and tax relationships, deliver accurate and timely financial analytics, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements
- Serve as a strategic partner and change agent across the executive team; teach and explain complex financial issues to non-financial leaders in a manner that drives efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement
- As a member of the executive team, set the tone for a culture of financial accountability, proactivity, and results-orientation
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
- 10\+ years of financial leadership experience; Centricity will consider a strong first-time CFO with directly relevant PE-backed background
- Proven track record building and scaling finance and accounting teams from the ground up, including recruiting A-players, leveraging offshore and near-shore resources, and designing team structures appropriate to a PE-backed platform
- Experience presenting to Boards and managing PE sponsor and lender relationships, with a deep understanding of how to meet weekly/monthly financial and KPI reporting expectations, manage debt compliance reporting, and drive EBITDA growth
- Hands-on involvement in M\&A diligence and integration, with preference for experience supporting active buy-and-build strategies and managing repeatable integration processes across a high volume of acquisitions
- Proficiency in ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite) and data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau); comfort leveraging AI and automation to enhance financial operations
- Previous involvement in a PE-backed business that grew significantly in value; ideally, experience supporting or leading a company through a successful exit process
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines; comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in a dynamic, multi-site operating environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; strong collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions, external constituents, and offshore resources
The following experience is a plus:
Experience in a multi-site or distributed operating model, with an understanding of site-level economics, contract-driven revenue, and the interplay between operational activity and financial performance; clinical research, healthcare services, or other backlog-based revenue environments are particularly relevant
