Regional Sales Manager-East
We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join a growing dairy company in New York. This person would be responsible for managing and growing sales with regional customers in the Eastern US. The Regional Sales Manager will be accountable for developing and executing key growth strategies, tactics, and action plans. This role will report directly to the Director of Sales-Regionals and play an important role in the continued exponential growth of the brand. Location
: Remote with 30-50% travel in the-Eastern half of the U.S.
Job Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the organization, planning, and execution of all sales activities for regional customers.
- Develop strategic customer plans that align with company goals and objectives to meet or exceed budgeted sales.
- Understand customer business needs and build short and long term strategies that support those customer goals while achieving all company sales targets and financial expectations.
- Lead and improve distribution, pricing, shelving and merchandising within stated customers.
- Ensure sound fiscal operation of sales territory through the adherence and measurement of trade guidelines and overhead spending.
- Establish a strong working relationship with internal cross functional teams in Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Sales Planning, etc to achieve desired results for both customers and internal organizations.
- Develop best in class partnerships with key retailers for long term brand and category growth.
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively use business intelligence (i.e. Nielsen) and customer databases to drive brand and category growth.
- Work closely with broker partners to achieve outstanding execution across Regional accounts.
- Accountable for partnering with Sales Strategy team to uncover key customer category opportunities to improve profit and gross sales volume based on analysis of promotion, spending and volume (forecast and actuals). Flawlessly execute these solution based selling tools and presentations to close opportunities within customer base.
- Manage and leverage the broker relationship to effectively strategize and win at a diverse array of customers.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3\+ years of consumer-packaged goods industry experience in Sales and/or related role.
- Proven experience at NE Grocery Retailers
highly preferred.
- Previous broker management experience highly
preferred.
- Demonstrated success as a team player building highly collaborative working relationships, especially with finance and sales planning.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, and time management skills.
- Experience working with syndicated and customer data sources to drive actionable insight.
- Functional competencies in customer business development, trade and sales planning with fact based selling through category insights.
- Travel requirements: Approximately 30-50%
