Job Title: AI \& Data Associate Director - Energy Providers EM\&V

Location: New York, New York, United States

Type: Full Time

Our Client is looking for an experienced Associate Director to join a rapidly growing AI \& Data practice, with a strong focus on Evaluation, Measurement \& Verification (EM\&V) for energy efficiency and demand-side management programs. This is a leadership opportunity for professionals passionate about combining advanced analytics, AI, and energy market expertise to deliver impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership \& Engagement

  • Lead end-to-end client engagements—from program design and evaluation strategy through execution and final reporting.
  • Develop and implement advanced evaluation methodologies aligned with industry best practices.
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable insights and recommendations for business and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Manage project delivery, including timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Build strong client relationships, influence decision-making, and expand accounts through strategic partnerships.
  • Identify business opportunities, shape proposals, and contribute to revenue growth.

Solution Development \& Innovation

  • Drive innovative solutions leveraging

AI, advanced analytics, and data science

for energy program evaluation.

  • Stay current with industry advancements to ensure cutting-edge, competitive offerings.
  • Develop frameworks for evaluating programs across load management, demand response, energy efficiency, renewables, EVs, storage, decarbonization, and electrification.

Team \& Practice Leadership

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and consultants.
  • Drive business development initiatives including pipeline generation and proposal leadership.
  • Contribute to talent development, hiring, and thought leadership within the practice.

Required Qualifications

  • 7\+ years of experience in the energy industry, with strong exposure to project delivery and business development.
  • 5\+ years of experience leading DSM/EM\&V program evaluations.
  • Deep expertise in evaluation methodologies across energy efficiency, demand response, renewables, EVs, and related programs.
  • Strong programming skills (Python, R, SQL) and familiarity with version control tools.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, R Shiny, Dash).
  • Hands-on exposure to AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar.
  • Proven ability to convert technical insights into business value.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing large engagements and growing client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML, modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • AI/LLM certifications.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
