Job Description
Job Summary Generator Service Technician
- Perform maintenance and repair on generators (5-5000kw) and parallel systems
- Troubleshoot and repair Automatic Transfer Switches, including bypass isolation and closed transition types
- Conduct preventative maintenance (oil, filters), troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, replace components, and perform warranty work per manufacturer guidelines
- Start-up and commission new generators and generator systems
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel or gaseous engines (ignition components, injection systems, valve adjustments, etc.)
- Perform load bank testing to ensure proper operating conditions and code compliance
- Assist other technicians on large jobs or complicated troubleshooting
- Complete and submit verbal/written reports on job status, repairs, and equipment needs
- Track work time and travel, and maintain a valid driver s license with excellent driving record
- Work remotely from home, ensuring company property and vehicle maintenance
- Travel required to job sites, including possible overnight stays (1-3 nights/week)
- Utilize computer skills with Microsoft Office and Adobe products
- Provide excellent customer service and problem-solving in emergency or limited-resource situations
- Attend required training (in-person and remote as needed)
- Work in varying weather conditions and near moving mechanical parts
- Meet physical demands including lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs, entering confined spaces, and extended periods of sitting
- Must pass background check, drug screen, and DOT physical examination

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate degree in electrical/mechanical field preferred
- Generac Power Systems certification preferred
- Prior experience as military electrician or generator/UPS field service technician preferred
- Strong communication, computer, and problem-solving skills required
