Welder Helper

SUMMARY

===============

Under the direction of the Welding Foreman, performs general labor as needed. Working knowledge of hand tools, Drill Press, Grinders, Tape Measures \& Sanders.

DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITES:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

PRODUCTION

• Use of hand tools in a safe and proper manner.

• Use of power tools in a safe and proper manner. (After Training)

• Completes job assignments in a timely manner.

MAINTENANCE

• General housekeeping in area of work. (Clean up work area after each job)

• Responsible to report any equipment that is Not working properly to foreman in charge.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Follow instructions of supervisor/foreman.

• Communicates well with department foreman and other co-workers.

• Reports accidents or any incidents to department foreman.

• Skilled in reading, writing and arithmetic in English or Spanish.

• Ability to read a tape measure.

• Ability to understand \& carry out oral and/or written instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Simple grasping with both hands, 3-6 hours.

• Reaching below shoulder, 3-6 hours.

• Pushing, pulling with both hands, 1-3 hours.

• Lift materials up to 60 pounds 2 times a day.

• 3-6 hours of standing, bending, stooping and reaching throughout the day.

• 1-3 hours of walking within the warehouse.

• Up to 1 hour of sitting a day.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PLANT ENVIROMENT:

• Single story insulated metal building with 27’ ceiling.

• Temperatures ranging form 60 – 90 degrees, no heating or air conditioning.

• Florescent lighting, and sky lights, low noise level, exposure to welding flash.
