Job Summary:
This role involves overseeing and coordinating organizational activities to ensure alignment with established policies, goals, and objectives. It is focused on achieving both short- and long-term operational targets across the organization. Key responsibilities include direct oversight of the Mobile Medicine Division, which encompasses LIFE FORCE air medical services, Neonatal and Pediatric Transport teams, Emergency Medical Services, and Event Medicine. Additionally, Erlanger's Regional Operations Center (EROC), Emergency Management - including Disaster Preparedness and Response Teams and Public Safety, which encompasses the police department and security services.
Possess the expertise to create, execute, and assess strategic business plans that align with the organization's overarching mission. Demonstrate the ability to adapt by anticipating future business trends and setting suitable goals that accommodate changes in priorities and the direction of business initiatives. Lead, mentor, and cultivate teams to attain high-performance standards and achieve strategic objectives.
Education:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, health care administration, or related field required.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in health/hospital administration, business administration, or related field.
Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing functions and departments within a clinical environment, focusing on pre-hospital medicine, emergency management, and public safety.
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare business principles and administrative techniques, including strategic and operational planning, healthcare economics, personnel administration, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- In-depth knowledge of key healthcare industry related to physicians, medical schools, and medical education, along with familiarity with financial management and industry trends.
- Experience in process analysis and design, with a strong track record of meeting accreditation requirements and standards.
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to plan, organize, and follow up effectively, alongside capabilities in budget preparation and monitoring.
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, with experience in setting and managing priorities, team collaboration, and staff education.
- Ability to communicate complex and technical subjects clearly to diverse audiences, and drive behavior changes.
- Strong experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring processes within complex healthcare environments.
- Direct management experience in transport systems, public safety, and emergency management, with specific expertise in financial and clinical management systems.
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Paramedic with or eligible for board certification as a Flight RN (CFRN) or Flight Paramedic Certified (FP-C).
- Certified Medical Transport Executive within two years of date of hire.

Department Position Summary
- Provides strong leadership and direction to establish outcomes that meet or exceed national quality standards related to the areas of responsibility. Ensures compliance with hospital regulations and those set by TJC/DNV, CAMTS, and other regulatory authorities. Collaborating with system leadership will help facilitate and coordinate initiatives across the entire system.
- Collaborates with leaders, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to establish a clear vision for specific areas of responsibility.
- Develops a strategic plan that outlines the steps needed to implement this vision, considering market dynamics such as threats, opportunities, and industry trends to position the organization for success. Effectively communicates the vision to both internal and external stakeholders.

- The role supports the Physician leaders and Medical Directors by helping to advance the organization's mission. It also assists non-physician clinical leaders in fostering a culture of continuous learning. The position is responsible for developing clinical experts who actively engage in educational programs associated with local clinical degree programs and for delivering presentations to medical staff and personnel.
- By identifying grants and other funding sources, we promote research conducted by physicians and other clinicians to develop the next generation of techniques and technologies.
- Prepares and manages the annual expense budget, capital request budget, and human resource utilization plan for hospital services under their responsibility. Additionally, participates in the preparation and management of the EHS annual expense budget, the capital request budget, and the human resources plan for physician services within their areas of responsibility.
- Leads the business plan development process for new programs and services.
- Fosters and develops strong professional relationships with medical staff, ancillary departments, and other internal and external partners.
- Develops, continuously enhances, and supports the systems and processes needed to manage the organization's current activities and anticipated growth.
- Develops and implements procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
- Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
- Oversees operations by providing leadership and guidance in customer service, quality patient care, marketing, and financial management. Offers direction and oversight to ensure excellent patient care while adhering to all relevant regulatory and company standards.
- Identifies and implements effective community outreach strategies.
- Responsible for managing contracts with Medical Directors, negotiating and approving agreements as needed.
- Develops strong relationships with physician practices in the region and facilitates connections among medical directors, physicians, operational directors, and area managers.
- Analyzes and recommends local marketing and other community support activities.
- Develops and executes programs that promote growth and identify opportunities for expanding services.
