Role and Responsibilities:
- The Senior Business Analyst (Senior BA) is an engaged, proactive member of the IT team focused on building a deep understanding of business processes, value propositions, and technical needs.
- The Senior BA analyzes process, explores multiple data sources/types, and communicates findings to produce actionable business and technical requirements that account for business strategy, technical constraints, and cost/benefit.
- The Senior BA contributes to all stages of the Agile continuous improvement lifecycle, including: need identification, current state analysis, requirement documentation, solutioning, and development/configuration where applicable.
- Act as a liaison between business leads and IT team members, developing a deep understanding of both business drivers and IT future-state plans.
- Use multiple modalities to elicit and analyze business needs, drivers, and requests, translating those into effective and efficient technical and functional documentation/user stories.
- Assist with both high- and low-tech solutioning for user stories, utilizing process mapping and data analysis to drive evidence-based, cost/benefit optimized solutions.
- Create, validate, and optimize documentation for user stories, including ongoing refinement, solution workshopping, prototyping / mockups, and results reporting.
- Contribute process-level expertise, data analysis, documentation, and support throughout the continuous improvement lifecycle.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver communications/presentations/documentation related to testing, project status, end-user training, and project results, among others.
- Use superior analysis and troubleshooting abilities to efficiently delve into identified issues, coordinating technical resources where applicable, establishing root cause, developing theories for contributing factors, and beginning to elucidate potential solutions.
- Identify business and industry trends through data and process analysis, SME interviews, and independent research.
- Embrace servant-leadership and coach teams on Agile methodologies, helping teams to create an environment that fosters transparency, learning, innovation, quality, and speed.
- Help teams \& IT management understand and implement effective metrics on things that impact value-driven delivery.
- Serve as Agile evangelist, broadening Agile practices, processes, and approach beyond the scope of IT.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 5 \+ years of experience in a Product Owner and/or Sr. Business Analyst role (or similar) in an agile software development environment.
- Diverse IT/Business knowledge in a variety of practice areas, potentially including some of the following: data manipulation and analysis, process analysis, SaaS administration and configuration, software development, requirements gathering and documentation, UI/design, etc.
- Candidate should have experience planning/designing/driving process from inception, rather than following a pre-determined “plan”.
- Strong working knowledge of agile methodology, user stories, and iterative development
- SQL a must, query and validate data, only need to know select statements
