The Opportunity

This critical role is part of the global sales team and reports to the VP Sales. The Business Development Representative works with the Sales and Marketing functions to identify opportunities within named prospects and works within a tightly defined sales process to ensure a consistent and unified approach to selling LIO’s services.

The role will be based in the US and this person will focus primarily on the US market but will also provide targeted UK support. This person is planful and focused yet flexible with their time management. This is a high-volume activity environment that requires strong organizational capabilities, attention to detail, creativity and a desire to work as part of a team. This candidate must be a self-motivator (proactive, conscientious and self-starting), resonate deeply with our mission, be smart yet grounded and have a track record of overachievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the global sales team by identifying new opportunities within prospects and setting up meetings with C-level stakeholders.
  • Achieve weekly, quarterly, and annual meeting and opportunity targets.
  • Leverage all channels available (phone, email, social, etc.) to engage with prospects and outline LIO’s unique value proposition.
  • Research prospects (accounts and individuals) to understand their goals, objectives, and organizational structures and strategically leverage this insight to engage with prospects and nurture relationships.
  • Partner with the marketing team to drive engagement with key events and convert inbound leads into opportunities.
  • Understand the changing business and technology issues facing our client and prospect base.
  • Ensure all CRM task records are up to date at any given time.

Essential experience:

●        BSc or BA or equivalent experience.

●        9\+ months B2B sales experience – healthcare technology preferred.

●       Proven ability to initiate, establish, and nurture meaningful business relationships remotely via email and over the phone.

●        Effective organization and time management skills.

●        Effective written and verbal communication skills.

●        Strong interpersonal skills, especially over the phone.

●        Ability to manage flexible schedules to support US and UK efforts.

Desirable experience:

●       Willingness to travel to visit prospects and customers and the occasional conference.

●       Competency with Salesforce and/or other sales enablement tools.
