We are seeking a
Human Resources Junior Generalist
to join our Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) team within the Human Resources department. They’re responsible for supporting the people needs of our staff and Partners in the Tax department across our Metro New York offices, which include White Plains, New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island. This individual will be based at the White Plains location.
Responsibilities Are, But Not Limited To
- HR Operations \& Administration
+ Maintain accurate employee records and ongoing HRIS updates.
+ Generate reports on headcount, turnover and other HR metrics.
+ Proactively communicate employee updates with the appropriate internal stakeholders, which may include payroll, benefits, resource management and/or other HR Business Partners.
- Onboarding \& Offboarding
+ Manage the employee onboarding and offboarding process.
+ Facilitate new hire orientation and help guide employees to appropriate firm resources during their integration process.
+ Partner with talent acquisition, corporate IT and other internal stakeholders to successfully onboard new hires and maintain new hire compliance.
+ Support the full offboarding process for employees, including exit meetings.
- Recruitment Support
+ Submit new requisitions in HRIS to the internal talent acquisition team.
+ Partner with the national campus recruiting to support local campus recruiting initiatives, including attending campus recruiting events, coordinating with local campus volunteers and supporting the campus talent selection process.
+ Conduct HR interviews with prospective experienced hire talent (as needed).
- Employee Relations \& Engagement
+ Respond to employee inquiries regarding firm policies, procedures and resources.
+ Assist in resolving minor employee concerns and escalating matters as needed by the HR Manager and Director.
+ Support employee engagement \& retention initiatives.
+ Support the performance management and People and Career Leader processes.
+ Coordinate with the Learning \& Development team to align staff with training \& other firm resources that support their career development \& progression.
- Compliance \& Policy
+ Ensure adherence to federal, state and local labor laws and internal firm policies.
+ Assist in audits and documentation for compliance purposes.
+ Maintain the highest confidentiality in all firm and employment matters.
+ Support special HR projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field.
- Have 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably in a professional services or corporate setting.
- Possess working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Be highly detail-oriented, proactive.
- Possess a strong sense of urgency and ability to successfully prioritize while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Be team-centric mindset and ability to collaborate internally.
- Have an HR certification (a plus).
- Be familiar with HRIS tools.
- Travel up to 20% across the Metro New York Region (offices include: Long Island, New Jersey, New York City, and White Plains).
