Description Of Work
Rehabilitation Education Specialist position will be housed at DHHS Headquarters located at 1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh, NC in Wake County. The role leads State Office training and meeting coordination and requires a strong proficiency with state office technology and systems. This position supports a fast-paced and evolving environment where continuous organizational and technological changes drive ongoing training needs. It also serves as the primary manager of the University Internship Program and works closely with the EIPD contracts division.
Essential functions include providing work‑related and educational training for State Office staff, and developing and delivering in‑person and virtual training that aligns with organizational needs, EIPD standards, and RSA requirements. The position manages logistics for large internal and external training events to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and compliance standards. It also administers pre‑approved continuing education credits in accordance with accrediting requirements; a CRC credential is preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to provide effective in-person and virtual teaching, group presentations and group facilitation
- Proven ability to manage on-site training delivery and participant engagement
- Must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks and training programs concurrently
- Demonstrated ability to apply proven teaching techniques and adult-learning principles for the successful development and delivery of training content CRC-Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of casework methodology and rehabilitation counseling policies and procedures
Physical Requirements
Operate and transport audio-visual materials/equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.

- Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Vocational Evaluation, Curriculum Design and Development, Adult Education, Organizational Development or closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, educational program development; or
