Fund Placement Analyst Job Description
M2O Private Fund Advisors (“M2O” or the “Firm”) is an independent placement agent focused exclusively on private equity fund placement, direct equity / co-investment placement, and secondary advisory. The Firm was formed in 2012 by the former senior fund placement team from Jefferies. M2O has grown to be one of the leading private equity capital advisory firms in North America.
M2O is looking for an ambitious and articulate analyst to join a 20-person team and work across all aspects of the business. The analyst position provides outstanding experience and exposure to senior professionals both within the Firm and with M2O clients.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of investment banking, private funds advisory, or secondary advisory experience
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
- Must enjoy working in a team environment
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial
- Personal integrity, self-discipline, and confidence are essential
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office programs
Responsibilities:
As part of the M2O team, you will play an active role in capital raises and transactions from start to finish.
- Support project management and execution across (i) primary fund placement; (ii) direct equity / co-investment placement; and (ii) secondary advisory, including both GP-led and LP-led solutions
- Prepare marketing materials, including teasers, confidential investment memorandum, investor presentations, datasheets, and cash flows
- Help assemble financial models to analyze direct equity SPVs, GP-led transactions, and LP portfolios
- Manage data rooms and respond to investor due diligence requests
- Update CRM and maintain investor dashboards and participate in weekly client update calls
- Assist with origination process including research and due diligence on prospective clients
- Preparing and participating in new business pitches
- Coordinate with broader team on investor and buyer outreach and learn about the limited partner landscape
- Participate in discussions and negotiations between our clients and secondary buyers and help facilitate the transaction closing process
