Role Description

This full-time Senior Database Administrator (Cogito) role is a hybrid position based in Bellevue, WA, with a combination of onsite and work-from-home days. The Senior DBA will be responsible for administering, monitoring, and optimizing Cogito and related databases to support clinical and operational reporting, analytics, and decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing database performance, capacity, and security; configuring and maintaining replication; and ensuring high availability, data integrity, and disaster recovery readiness. The role will collaborate closely with analytics, application, and infrastructure teams to design and implement robust database solutions and troubleshoot complex issues. The Senior DBA will also contribute to standards, documentation, and best practices, and may mentor other team members in database and Cogito technologies.

Qualifications

  • Strong database administration skills, including installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with database design and data modeling to support reporting, analytics, and application needs.
  • Proficiency working with enterprise databases and Cogito or similar healthcare analytics platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database, performance, and connectivity issues in multi-tier environments.
  • Hands-on experience with database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Knowledge of SQL, scripting (such as PowerShell or Python), and automation for routine database tasks.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data, EHR systems, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Several years of progressive experience as a Database Administrator, with senior-level responsibilities in a complex environment.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
