Compensation Range: $42 - 47 per hour

We are looking for a highly skilled Design Researcher to join the Digital Product Design team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the user experience and driving innovation across our digital offerings.

You will be responsible for defining research strategies, gathering and interpreting user insights, conducting rigorous user testing, and delivering actionable, user-centric recommendations across the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities:

  • Methodology \& Strategy: Identify and execute the best qualitative and quantitative methodologies to meet research objectives across digital products and services.
  • Research Execution: Craft test plans, workshop activities, and interview guides. Recruit participants, moderate research sessions, and conduct objective field research.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product designers, managers, and cross-functional Agile teams to ensure user insights are embedded throughout every stage of product development.
  • Insight Synthesis: Analyze research data, create compelling reports/presentations, and build key design artifacts including user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints.
  • Market Benchmarking: Perform competitive analysis and industry benchmarking to uncover market trends and user behavior shifts.
  • Travel: Travel within the U.S. as needed to perform on-site qualitative research, observational studies, and user interviews.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
  • Experience: 4\+ years of dedicated experience as a Design Researcher embedded within an Agile environment (portfolio/case studies required).
  • Research Mastery: Proven experience conducting end-to-end user research and usability testing for digital products across all stages of development.
  • Methodologies: Proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques, aligned with human-centered design principles.
  • Tooling: Demonstrated proficiency with research tools (e.g., UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, SurveyMonkey).
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting usability testing specifically for native mobile applications.
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills (e.g., leading design thinking or co-creation sessions).
  • Background working directly in tandem with Product Designers to validate designs iteratively.
  • Familiarity with foundational Service Design concepts and ecosystem mapping.
