Engineering Manager
Location: Longview, TX
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice production engineering; planning vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
- Leads teams in the development of new processes, solutions, and products as needed.
- Oversees project logistics and resource allocation.
- Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
- Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
- Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies.
- Advocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success.
- Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential customers.
- Maintains high level expertise in their field or sector.
- Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
- Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
- Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountability.
- Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximize efficient productivity.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.
- Review, implement and update company records e.g. training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments.
- Lead the team in new product and process introduction.
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware.
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
- Provide technical expertise to the team.

- Manage the plant Engineering department.

- Past use of Agile/Scrum or similar collaborative tools a plus.
- Experience using computer-aided (CAD) platforms.
- Experience using System Applications and Products (SAP) software.
Education Requirements:
- BS in Engineering required.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA a plus.

Normal office conditions. Office may be located in a multi-level office building. Job demands may require long periods of sitting, telephone work, and/or computer work, as well as interaction with other people.
