Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

  • The job holder is the lead Controller for Supply Chain, supporting and advising the SVP Supply Chain and the Supply Chain Leadership Team. The role contributes to the setting and execution of the strategy for the Supply Chain function by leading the processes of Reporting, Budgeting, Business Planning, Forecasting, Investments, and Performance Management for Supply Chain. Based on financial analysis and simulations, the role will advise and recommend ways to maximize integrated ADP-PTE material flow profit, ROCE, and cash flow with a key aim to achieve a balance between the commercial strategy of the different regions and the respective PTE distribution strategy of all hubs/agents at all locations. The Senior Controller, Supply Chain, provides advice and meaningful insights via business partnering to provide a solid basis for decision making and prepares communication material (financials, business cases, forecasts) for the Supply Chain Leadership Team and the PTE Executive Team.
  • In performing this role, the Senior Controller, Supply Chain, interacts with different stakeholders to support the SVP Supply Chain through decision support services to provide a solid basis for optimal decision making. In addition, the role holder is leading and driving various Finance projects as required and is the key finance person involved in all strategic projects within the Supply Chain function. The Senior Controller, Supply Chain, is part of the Supply Chain Management Team and is the main interface between the Supply Chain and the Finance function.

JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Planning, Forecasting, and Reporting

  • Partnering with the business to provide insights and regular financial performance and results reporting, underlying business drivers, and future outlook to support the Supply Chain Leadership Team in driving strategy implementation and performance management by ensuring well-informed business decisions
  • Support the Sales \& Operations Planning by providing financial and business impact to enable Supply Chain executives to make better-informed decisions:
  • Process ownership of the annual Business Plan for the Supply Chain, i.e., planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting within the area of responsibility (i.e., across regional coverage for Supply Chain Management Team and close link to Market Centers and Regions).
  • Consolidate and prepare monthly reporting of the current, forecasted supply chain results and financial performance trends, and critically review, analyse, and identify gap/corrective measures and develop and recommend short and longer-term strategies to improve business performance within the function.
  • Support the supply chain and logistics strategy by preparing analyses and financial simulations on the optimal supply chain flow and optimization of operations in ADP, combined with distribution within the company PTE. Considerations on activities such as packaging, local transportation, sea transportation, handling activities, warehousing, hubs, etc., will need to be accounted for as part of the analyses.
  • Evaluate and prepare complex scenario analyses to drive inventory management and customer service.
  • Prepare analyses, present financial simulations, accounting for different market centers and regions, constraints from 3PL contracts, and locational nuisances and environments, challenging the management team on business plans to support logistics and distribution ambitions of the business.
  • Prepare and review business strategic plans and management information across all financial metrics, including but not limited to revenues, costs, capital, Economic Profit, and workforce planning, logistics costs per tonne.
  • Develop and monitor the Supply Chain’s project costing activities as well as establish controls (time writing, logistics costs reporting, etc.)
  • Support Supply Chain’s Leadership Team and relevant stakeholders on ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, investment simulations, and queries with respect to the Supply Chain Centre, providing advice as subject matter expert and financial advisor for the region.
  • Drive continuous improvements of processes and procedures to enhance reporting, increase efficiencies, accuracy, and consistency across the company.
  • Required to take part in ad hoc and special projects, often leading and driving business-driven projects

Performance Management

  • Drive performance management process incl. target setting within the Supply Chain Centre.
  • Alignment of KPI cascading across the organization through teamwork with Regions, Marketing, Business Centre, and other decision support teams (e.g., Strategy, HR, Corporate Support, Site Controlling, etc.)
  • Regular review and analysis of performance and proactive corrective action proposals

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE \& SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Master's degree in economics, finance, and/or management, preferably MBA

Minimum Experience \& Knowledge \& Skills

  • A minimum of 12 years or more relevant experience
  • MEA, Asia Pacific, and Regional HQ experience is preferred
  • Excellent in collecting, analysing, and presenting data and financial skills
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience from the chemicals/petrochemicals industry is preferred.

Professional Certifications

  • CMA qualification or equivalent preferred.

Work Condition- This position is based in Abu Dhabi, requiring infrequent travel in line with business needs.
