Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of innovative seasoning solutions for meat products through dry blend delivery systems, including rubs, marinades, and brines.
- Apply advanced meat science expertise and culinary creativity to develop, test, and validate formulations, ensuring excellence in taste and functionality.
- Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to customers, leading capability presentations, collaborative work sessions, and strategic problem-solving discussions.
- Conduct sensory evaluations using standardized methodologies, providing insights that shape flavor innovation strategies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including regulatory, commercial, and operations groups, to ensure seamless product execution and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead and mentor junior scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and creative problem-solving.
- Guide the upscaling process by providing expertise in troubleshooting, commercialization, and material performance, ensuring successful plant implementation.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science, Meat Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product development within the food or meat industry. Meat or seasonings experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in leading product innovation projects from concept through commercialization.
- Proven ability to drive strategic research initiatives, influence technical decisions, and create business value through innovation.
- Expertise in formulation and ingredient functionality within meat applications, with strong capability in product sensory evaluation.
- Strong experience in cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and customer engagement.
- Ability to travel (\~20%) for customer meetings, upscale trials, factory visits, and industry conferences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with adaptability to new technical platforms.

The pay range for this position is $70,100 - $122,000 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
