Lance (YC W26) builds AI agents that run hotel operations—answering calls, closing bookings, and handling workflows. We’re live in 50\+ hotels across Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt properties.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco, CA, for a Founding Engineer. The Founding Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain the core product infrastructure, including AI-driven functionalities. Responsibilities include leading product development, building scalable systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and innovating to address the technical and functional needs of the hospitality industry. The role will also involve mentoring team members, guiding technical decisions, and contributing to the company's strategic direction.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills, including experience with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or similar).
• Be able to work 996 Startup hours with competitive pay and equity.
• Expertise in system architecture design, cloud services, and building scalable, reliable backend infrastructures.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, tools, and frameworks; experience with natural language processing (NLP) is a plus.
• Experience with software development best practices, such as testing, code reviews, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Proven ability to work in startup environments, adapting to fast-paced change and tackling diverse challenges.
• Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and collaborative mindset.
• Pursing or finished Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant work experience can be considered in place of formal education.

Total Compensation

$120,000 - $200,000 Cash \+ Bonus \+ Equity
