Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems within our aerospace and simulation manufacturing environment. This position will play a key role in the design of structural assemblies, mechanical components, and integrated systems used in aircraft training devices, mockups, and simulation platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical systems and assemblies including structural components, sheet metal assemblies, machined parts, and integrated mechanical structures.
  • Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and documentation for manufacturing and production.
  • Perform mechanical design analysis including fit, form, function, and manufacturability considerations.
  • Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to ensure proper integration of mechanical and control systems.
  • Support manufacturing teams with design clarifications, prototype development, and production troubleshooting.
  • Participate in design reviews and assist with testing, validation, and improvement of mechanical systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support engineering and production goals.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical engineering within a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience designing fabricated assemblies, structural components, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or accredited training in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong proficiency in 3D-modeling CAD software (Autodesk Inventor \& AutoCAD preferred).
  • Preferred background in aerospace, simulation systems, or custom equipment manufacturing.

Work Environment \& Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Visual acuity for reading engineering documents and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and via email / telephone.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
