Job Description
Senior Frontend Developer
Orca Agentics, Inc. · Fully Remote
About Orca
Orca is an Agent Harness Orchestrator: an Electron application where AI agents and humans work as a team with persistent identities, structured communication, and scoped ownership. The way human organizations are structured and collaborate, adapted to AI agents.
The Role
Architecture and leadership. Zero human-written code is a mandate at Orca. You won't write code. You'll lead the AI agents who do.
You'll own problem spaces, not tasks. You drive execution end-to-end: concept, define, design, develop, launch, monitor, and maintain. You own UX design (Figma or otherwise), architecture decisions, and shipping. You direct, agents design and implement, you review.
You develop Orca using Orca itself, refining the agents' context documentation, sub-agents, skills, and hooks for the frontend domain. When an agent makes a mistake, you identify the root cause and update the tooling so it never happens again.
As the first dedicated frontend hire, you'll own the frontend architecture. The stack is yours to re-define, evolve, and scale as part of your domain ownership.
What You'll Work With
- Orca's agent orchestration platform, used daily to build the product itself
- TypeScript (strict mode) across a pnpm monorepo
- MCP (Model Context Protocol) for agent-service communication
- Vitest for testing (unit, integration, E2E)
- esbuild and tsup for bundling
Must Have
- You are an architect and a leader. You set technical direction, define standards, and hold the quality bar
- You independently drive end-to-end: concept through launch and maintenance, with no one handing you specs or tickets
- You understand the direct, design, review workflow: define requirements, direct agents to design and implement, conduct rigorous reviews on the output
- You do your own UX design (Figma, sketches, prototypes)
- Deep understanding of the AI Agent Harness: Skills, Sub-agents, Hooks, and context documentation. Hands-on experience building, refining, and debugging agent behavior
- Proven ability to control agent output: identify when agents produce incorrect or inconsistent work and update tooling so the mistake never recurs
- You have built large-scale projects using primarily or solely AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.). This is how we work and you need to be fluent
- You can assess software quality (performance, scalability, test coverage, architecture) without manually reading every line
- Deep TypeScript expertise
- Strong fundamentals in frontend rendering, CSS, and performance
- Experience with monorepo tooling (pnpm, turborepo, nx, or similar)
Preferred
- You have built AI products using AI. You understand the full loop from prompt to product
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), including building servers, tools, or integrations
- Experience building Electron apps or complex webview-based UIs
- Familiarity with Node.js and IPC patterns
- Strong opinions on frontend architecture. You've evaluated and chosen UI stacks, not just used what was there
- Prior startup or open-source experience
- Interest in developer tools, infrastructure, or platform engineering
Why Orca
- First frontend engineer: maximum ownership, maximum impact
- The product is the future of how software gets built, with humans and AI agents as teammates
- Fully remote, AI-native workflow. We practice what we build
Compensation
- $200,000 - $240,000 base \+ equity
