Job Description
As a Carpenter at Wegmans, you'll be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wall board, using approved methods that conform to local building codes, in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining the highest degree of quality.
What will I do?
- Complete all tasks while strictly adhering to food and human safety guidelines
- Maintain Wegmans high standards of quality at all times
- Study sketches and blueprints and building plans to calculate materials required, and select specified type of lumber or other materials
- Prepare layout using rule, framing square and calipers
- Mark cutting and assembly lines on measurements using saws, chisels and planes, and assemble and fasten cut and shaped materials
- Work effectively with a team, assist others as necessary to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Keep open lines of communication with team members and supervisors
- Other ad hoc projects as required
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of commercial construction and/or architectural mill work or equivalent experience
- Experience working with various hand and electric power tools
- Math aptitude
- Carpentry skills
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10-hour Card - OSHA: Occupational Safety and Health Administration
